Summers County Resident to be inducted in WV Voter Hall of Fame

    The Secretary of State's Office this year have started a new project that honors the oldest registered voter in each county who have not missed an election. Summers County is pleased to report that Georgia "Grace" Honaker who is 100 years old and is a new resident of the Summers County Nursing and Rehab Facility at Talcott will be honored by Betty Ireland, Secretary of State at a reception hosted by Mrs. Honaker's daughter Virginia Mae Maddy of Bellepoint. 

     This celebration will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Nursing Home.  Mrs. Maddy stopped in the office and requested that I invite all of the candidates to this event.  She specifically asked for a large turnout of all county people to attend this celebration, in other words "Everyone is invited" she wants us all to get the word out and invite people to this reception.  Grace Honaker has not missed voting in any election from 1946-2006 and has even filed her absentee ballot application for this 2008 Primary!
